Casablanca American School has recently invested in updating the IT infrastructure.  The network is now able to support the next generation of applications and educational software.

The school has a dedicated machine room equipped with 2 racks:

  • Server rack for the latest HP Proliant servers, a storage system HP MSA 1000 with more than 1 TB space configured on SAN (Storage Area Network) and equipped with Fiber channel switch 2Gb/s between HP Proliant servers, a backup autoloader attending 12.6 TB space.
  • Switching rack containing the robust HP Procurve switches, federator switches connecting school buildings with fiber cables and access switches deserving building offices, classes and rooms.

Lower school and Upper Schoolcomputer Labs are equipped with new PC’s all using Windows XP Professional as operating system and latest applications updates.

Libraries for Upper and Lower schools are equipped with PC’s connected to Internet and the library system; students can search all library books and media.

CAS network include Wireless connections on all spaces inside and outside buildings, so the staff and students can use their WIFI compatible computers to access the network.

A new IT services has been set including helpdesk service for IT support and Engineering service for planning and deploying IT projects and solutions.

New IT projects are planned for this year, including new educational mail system shared between students, teachers and staff. The new system offers many advantages, real time information, and collaborative capabilities.

The Casablanca American School has the capacity to develop an efficient information system to support the Board’s vision.
