Student Support

The Upper School Learning Support team provides academic support to students and collaborates with teachers to help students access content.

Support teachers use teacher input, classroom observations, and results on classwork and assessments to determine the type of support students need.

If applicable, they assess the results of psycho-educational evaluations to implement accommodations and support plans that improve access to class content and the IB program. Learning Support teachers develop Student Education Plans (SEPs) in consultation with parents, students, and school administration.

Learning Support teachers work with students in class, in small groups, and in pull-out sessions outside of class. Whenever possible, Learning Support is provided in the classroom setting so that students can continue to benefit from their teachers’ subject-area expertise.

Learning Support teachers collaborate with teachers to share strategies for differentiating instruction for all students.
