In Upper School, 2 hours of Physical Education is offered to our students, from Grades 6-10, including track & field, soccer, softball, basketball, volleyball, badminton and floor hockey.
After school extra-curricular sports activities are offered throughout the year for Upper School Students. Students have the choice to join Grade 6-8 teams or Junior Varsity or Varsity teams for the following sports: Track & Field, Swimming, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton and Soccer. These vary by season and each sports activity ends with a national or international tournament.
In the Lower School, at least 2 sessions per week are devoted to PE, in addition to the many opportunities for physical activity offered during recess. We move right away and in music for a rythmic, relaxing and focused experiment.
Our PE program is designed to develop mental, physical, and social aspects of living - necessary for a happy and productive life. Students will be developing their movement and coordination skills through games and fun play. Students are also introduced to the fundamentals of team sports, positive sportsmanship, as well as nutrition and well-being.
In preschool, gross motor skills are developed several times a week as part of the learning experiment, recesses are spent outside, and the CAS Olympics are a big favorite among Kindergartners.
Recess also offers opportunities for students to be physically active on the soccer field, basketball court, and playground.
Students engage in fun games to explore and develop gross motor movement, space awareness, handling different equipment (balls, raquets, scoops, hoops, etc), simple team sports, and team or partner work.
