FurPAWS by CAS held a Candy Sale for Lower School students in grades PF through 6. The aim of this project was to raise money and awareness for the dogs around CAS. From this Candy Sale, we sold 325 bags of candy and we were able to raise a total of 11,841.00 MAD, which will go towards feeding the dogs that live around the school, as well as paying for their flea treatments and any medical expenses they may have.
Hello CAS Community!
Between the months of March and April, FurPAWS by CAS held a Candy Sale Lower School students in grades PF through 6. Students had the option to buy either chocolate or non-chocolate, and the main method of outreach was through the school’s Instagram page and through teacher announcements.
From this Candy Sale, we sold 325 bags of candy and we were able to raise a total of 11,841.00 MAD, which will go towards feeding the dogs that live around the school, as well as paying for their flea treatments and any medical expenses they may have. This amount of money will cover the medical expenses of one of the dogs, Boots, who had to go to the hospital earlier this year, along with three months worth of food for all of the dogs.
FurPAWs was formed by a group of 11th-grade students; Anna Lydon, Rodrigo Mota, and Leandro Frei, who collectively love caring for animals. We saw the need to help the stray dogs around us. When we heard that Ms. Gi was already taking care of some dogs, we didn’t hesitate to jump on the opportunity to help.
We would like to give an enormous thank you to Ms. Gi, a Lower School art teacher, who not only helped us with this project but who has been paying to take care of the dogs around CAS on her own during her time with the school. Finally, we would like to thank all of the members of the CAS community who bought a candy bag or donated money, this would not be possible without you!
On behalf of the FurPAWS team, we would like to thank you for purchasing the candy bags, your generous donations, and your willingness to help our furry friends. Your contribution will not only aid the dogs we currently take care of by covering their medical bills and food but will also help future canine members. You have demonstrated to us your love for man’s best friend and we will forever be grateful. If you are interested in donating to the cause, please contact Ms. Gi at ggruen@cas.ac.ma—summer means more fleas and yearly vaccinations are due soon!
